MTV: More From 'Vampire Diaries' Exec Producer

Saint Stefan is dead! Long live bad-boy, Originals hang-around, "ripper" Stefan!

With so many revelations in last night's brilliantly constructed and altogether thrilling season three stunner, "The End of the Affair," the central love triangle that is the driving engine behind "The Vampire Diaries" shifted in a major way.

Hollywood Crush and a small handful of television reporters were invited to a Q&A session with passionate and clever executive producer Julie Plec, who dished about all of the thrills and chills in the third episode of the third season. CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

MTV: 'Secret Circle' Recap: 'Loner'

Horror movie folks should never say, "I'll be right back." And witches should never walk alone.

That's the big lesson from last night's episode of "The Secret Circle." Last week the six teen witches bound their powers together, which means they've got no mojo by themselves, but two or more together is super-magically delicious.

There's nothing like a stubbly stalker to drive a group of people together who have spent the entire afternoon trying to stay apart. Chance Harbor fisherman Zachary Larson arrives to terrorize the Circle, hunting them down one by one in abandoned houses and dark school hallways before they eventually unite to save themselves at the school dance.

The '80s slasher movie vibe of last night's episode was a treat and a great reminder of executive producer Kevin Williamson's involvement in the show. Before he created "Dawson's Creek," he was the mastermind behind "Scream." He wrote "I Know What You Did Last Summer," too, so he's no stranger to making a teenager-stalking fisherman scary.

Except this guy is more like, "I know what your parents did 15 years ago."

MTV: Vampire Diaries Preview

Maybe they should rename the show "The Stefan Diaries!"

Tonight's "Vampire Diaries" episode spills revelation after revelation which drive this season's arc forward as we journey to Chicago during the roaring '20s, where Stefan (in a tux!) may have smooched a lady or two roughly a hundred years before he enrolled in Elena Gilbert's high school. There's some present day shenanigans in the Windy City, too, as Damon and Elena track Stefan and Klaus thanks to a certain source with her own agenda.

The CW invited MTV's Hollywood Crush and a select group of television reporters to a private screening of tonight's episode, "The End of the Affair." As soon as the showing concluded, always engaging and talkative executive producer Julie Plec answered several questions. Julie embodies the type of passion for these characters all of us fans understand so well. Did any of you catch that tweet where she said she was crying as she wrote a scene recently? Yep, we love her.

MTV: 'Secret Circle' Recap: 'Bound'

Plenty of teenage girls would love to discover a bunch of magical powers lying dormant within. But not Cassie on "The Secret Circle." She wants nothing to do with the guys and gals who've explained to her that she's the missing link to their magic carpet ride around the boat town of Chance Harbor, where generations of witches have been up to tricks of the sometimes-lethal variety for years. MTV: Box Office Report

Simba and company partied like it was 1994 at the box office over the weekend as "The Lion King" remained #1 for the second weekend in a row. The 3-D re-release beat back competition from four wide releases while hauling in another $22.1 million, according to studio estimates. CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

MTV: Box-Office Report

What's old was new again as Disney's iconic "The Lion King" became the #1 movie at the box office over the weekend, taking in an estimated $29.3 million with a souped-up 3-D redo of the 1994 original. "Drive," one of the year's best-reviewed films, was #3 in its weekend debut, while the poorly reviewed remake of "Straw Dogs" and Sarah Jessica Parker's even-worse-reviewed "I Don't Know How She Does It" both flopped in their debuts. Last week's #1 movie, "Contagion," dropped to #2 this week. CLICK HERE to read my report.

MTV: 'The Secret Circle' Premiere Recap

Let's get "The Vampire Diaries" similarities out of the way: "The Secret Circle" is based on books by L.J. Smith. It's executive produced by "Scream" and "Dawson's Creek" mastermind Kevin Williamson. It takes place in a small town steeped in the supernatural with a hidden history dating back to the 1800s. Attractive teens try to fit in at high school while grappling with family tragedy and new-found superpowers. There's a big, delicious love triangle that looks to figure prominently in the show's serialized storytelling. CLICK HERE to read the rest of my recap of the series premiere.

MTV: Box-Office Report

"Contagion" is good. "Warrior," on the other hand, is great. Audiences made "Contagion" the number one movie in America over the weekend while they mostly stayed away from the far superior "Warrior," which is much more than it appears. CLICK HERE to read my report.
