MTV: Why Did Oscar Say "NAWT YOU!" To Wahlberg?

My favorite movie of 2010, "The Figther," has racked up nominations and awards this season in best picture, supporting actor / actress and ensemble categories. And yet there's been relatively nothing for Mark Wahlberg - producer, star... You know, THE FIGHTER. To read my analysis for MTV News, CLICK HERE.

"The Mechanic" Cast Interviews

I sat down with Jason Statham and Ben Foster and talked about what makes a great action script, improv and most excitingly, "The Expendables 2."

MTV: Oscar Snubs!

I woke up at 5:20am to report on the Oscar SNUBS from this morning's nominations! Mila! Nolan! Yikes! (If there's any silver lining it was the excuse to Google image "Mila Kunis Black Swan"... Wowzers). To read my report for MTV CLICK HERE.

Movie Review: "The Company Men"

"The Company Men" isn't as good as "The Town" but it's a strong movie with great performances and real emotional pull that respectfully, with great empathy, shines a light on an economic class rarely portrayed this realistically or effectively onscreen: the upper middle class.

Movie Review: "No Strings Attached"

"No Strings Attached" wastes an intriguing premise and two stars whose chemistry feels real with a reliance on formulaic romantic comedy conventions, bizarrely sudden jolts to the overall tone (in the form of randomly crude jokes and a surprisingly realistic sex scene, which isn't as good of a thing as it sounds) and the total absence of "will they or won't they?" tension.

One Life One Chance

My buddy Toby Morse (H2O, Hazen Street) has been taking his message of drug-free living and a "positive mental attitude" (or "PMA," as made semi-famous by the legendary bad brains) to schools around the country with his non-profit organization, One Life One Chance. I was more than happy to help with some copy writing when he launched OLOC and when he asked me to contribute a video "testimonial" - speaking about my own experiences with PMA and with straight edge / hardcore in particular - I was beyond flattered. You can learn more about OLOC and check out testimonials from folks like Travis Barker, pro baseball player C.J. Wilson (and me!) HERE.

Movie Review: "The Green Hornet"

"Congratulations! The Green Hornet isn't a total disaster!" I'm sure that's not what Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were hoping to hear when they jumped aboard "The Green Hornet," but that sentiment is the best I can muster.
