MTV: Box Office Report

Some folks thought a 3-D retelling of a Shakespearean classic starring computer-generated garden gnomes in the title roles and backed by the music of Sir Elton John wouldn't work. But the joke is on them.

"Gnomeo & Juliet" was the #1 movie at the box office over the weekend, besting newcomers "Hall Pass" and the underperforming "Drive Angry 3D." Nobody is happier than the film's executive producer.

"We never thought we'd be going to our own Oscar party having a #1 movie," John told MTV News on the red carpet for his 19th annual Academy Awards viewing party at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, which benefits his Elton John AIDS Foundation.

MTV: Christina Aguilera Trippin' (At the Grammys)

Christina Aguilera can't seem to catch a break, but at least she was able to catch herself. Exactly one week after her much-talked-about struggle with the national anthem at the Super Bowl, the powerhouse pop singer slipped and nearly fell off the stage at the conclusion of the Grammy tribute to Aretha Franklin. MTV: Arcade Fire Win Album Of The Year

Who says the Grammys reward nothing but pop music? Critical darlings Arcade Fire nabbed the top prize for Album of the Year at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night. The Canadian indie rock group's The Suburbs bested major label albums from megastars Eminem, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, whose media campaigns were as relentless as their radio hits were ubiquitous. Movie Review: "Just Go With It"

"Just Go With It" is one of those bad movies where a bunch of talented stars expect us to sit through it just because we like them. Adam Sandler seems half-awake, Jennifer Aniston seems mad about showing up, Brooklyn Decker is bubbly but replaceable, Nicole Kidman's "performance" is basically an extended cameo and Nick Swardson gives it his comedic "all" but is given very little to work with. Don't get me wrong, I laughed a few times here and there (mainly at Swardson) and I stand by my appreciation and fondness for the entire cast, but when you've made comedies as grand and enduring as "Happy Gilmore," "Office Space" or "Grandma's Boy," a movie like "Just Go With It" is just lazy. MTV: Adam Sandler Talks "Fat Man"

Adam Sandler has been (sort of) attached to a movie called "Fat Man," where he'd don a fat suit a la Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence, for years. When I asked him about the status of that project recently, it turned into a full-on discuss between him and Jennifer Aniston (his "Just Go With It" co-star) about the pros and cons of the project. Watch the exchange here.

MTV: Brooklyn Decker Interview

I caught up with Brooklyn Decker earlier this week and got her to spill the beans on "Battleship," the upcoming movie based on... The board game. Well, loosely based. Watch the clip HERE.
