Billboard: Streetlight Manifesto & Victory Records
The same day Victory Records releases the last album in their contract with Streetlight Manifesto on November 6, the band will issue an album containing acoustic versions of the same songs on their own label. It's something of a musical middle finger to the label from the ska-punk stalwarts, who earlier this year called on their fans to boycott the long-running Chicago-based indie.
Speaking with Billboard.biz, Kalnoky says that the band is on friendly terms with some Victory staffers, but has long been at odds with label founder Tony Brummel.
Brummel declined to comment for this story. In an email to Billboard.biz, he wrote, "Enjoy the Victory bashing."

MTV: Box Office Report
It was something of a hollow victory this weekend for "The Expendables 2," which held on to the #1 spot during the weakest box office of the year so far, signaling the end of the summer blockbuster season.
Late August is generally a bad time for theaters, and this one was particularly disappointing. "The Bourne Legacy" also held on to its spot at #2, thanks to a crop of underperforming newcomers: "Premium Rush," "Hit and Run" and horror flick "The Apparition," which didn't even manage to crack the top 10. MTV: Box Office Preview
As the summer movie season comes to close, look for "The Expendables 2" to top the box office a second time. Industry experts expect newcomers "Premium Rush," "Hit & Run" and "The Apparition" to crumble beneath the might of Sly Stallone's grizzled band of action-movie veterans. AP: Green Day Cover Story
My fourth Alternative Press cover story this year! In-depth interviews with all three guys conducted in Orange County a few weeks ago. Their DIY beginnings, 65 million albums sold, 5 Grammys, American Idiot fatherhood and three new albums. In other words, there was plenty to talk about. More info HERE.

Billboard: Ex-Roadrunner VP Talks Move to Nuclear Blast
Monte Conner is the guy who signed Slipknot, Type O Negative and Machine Head, so when news hit that he'd vacated his post at Roadrunner Records after 25 years, folks in the metal community were certain he'd resurface somewhere else soon. This week, Nuclear Blast Records owner Markus Staiger announced a new partnership with Conner called Nuclear Blast Entertainment, which will operate in New York City in conjunction with the label's offices in Germany and Los Angeles.

MTV: Box Office Report
"The Expendables 2" packed enough punch to topple "The Bourne Legacy" from the top of the box office over the weekend, but the sequel's debut fell short of the original's muscle. CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

MovieWeb: 'ParaNorman' Interviews
A lovingly rendered 3D stop-motion animation tale about a kid who is bullied because of his love of creepy things and his ability to talk with ghosts, "ParaNorman" is a treat. I was able to sit down with Kodi Smit-McPhee, Anna Kendrick and co-directors Chris Butler and Sam Fell to talk about this fun little movie. WATCH HERE.

MovieWeb: "Timothy Green" Interviews
I recently sat down with the cast of Disney's "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" (Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton and CJ Adams) as well as writer/director Peter Hedges (who wrote both the book and the film version of "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?"). Oddly enough, this story was conceived by Ahmet Zappa! CLICK HERE to watch my interviews.
MovieWeb: "The Expendables 2" Cast Interviews
Talking hot tub scenes, Brandon Lee, The Punisher and "The Expendables 2" with Dolph Lundgren. I also asked Jason Statham if people ever challenge him in real life and had a bunch of laughs with Terry Crews and Randy Couture. Watch it all HERE.
MTV: Box Office Preview
Jeremy Renner silenced all doubters when he successfully took the "Bourne" franchise to the top of the box office last weekend. But no amount of secret-agent training could help him against the combined might of the who's-who of '80s action stars in "The Expendables 2," which arrives in theaters this weekend. MTV: Box Office Report
Despite losing series star Matt Damon, the "Bourne" franchise was powerful enough to dethrone three-time champion "The Dark Knight Rises" at the box office. With Jeremy Renner in the lead role, "The Bourne Legacy" took in $40.3 million over the weekend to become the #1 movie in America. CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

MTV: Box Office Preview
Last weekend, "The Dark Knight Rises" fended off competition from "Total Recall" to remain the #1 movie in America. But will "The Bourne Legacy," which sees Jeremy Renner taking over the action franchise, be the movie that finally topples Batman? All signs point to "yes," as box-office experts have bet on Bourne. We're finally going to get that crossover between "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Secret Circle," albeit not exactly in the way we'd imagined. MTV: Box Office Preview
Batman has defeated Bane, Joker, Two-Face and Scarecrow. But can the Caped Crusader triumph over Colin Farrell? That's the question at the box office this weekend when "Total Recall" will do battle with two-time champion "The Dark Knight Rises." The third and final entry in Christopher Nolan's Gotham City trilogy crossed the $300 million mark domestically this week but faces new competition from "Total Recall," a remake that sees Farrell stepping into a role made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
