Spinoff Online: 'Arrow' S1 Episode 12 Recap
When last we left Arrow, Thea Queen was in trouble with the law after taking the new designer drug Vertigo and crashing her brand-new car on the night of her big 18th-birthday celebration. This week’s episode, appropriately titled “Vertigo,” kicks off with big brother Oliver donning his garb as The Hood and kicking the butts of various dealers. CLICK HERE to read the rest of my recap.

MTV: It's Official: J.J. Abrams Will Direct 'Star Wars: Episode VII'
His words may not have carried the dramatic weight of "I am your father," but J.J. Abrams has broken his silence about "Star Wars." In a press release issued by Disney and Lucasfilm on Saturday, the television creator turned filmmaker, who successfully resurrected the "Star Trek" franchise, spoke about the dream-come-true "Episode VII" directing gig. Spinoff Online: 'Arrow' S1 Episode 11 Recap
Fully recovered from the self-doubt that rocked him following his defeat by the Dark Archer, Oliver Queen is ready to return to what he does best: crossing off the names of Starling City’s corrupt businessmen in his father’s little black book. The only problem is this week’s bad guy is one of John Diggle’s old friends.
The title “Trust But Verify” makes the theme of the episode clear. Can Diggle trust his war buddy? Can Tommy trust his father? Can Moira trust that Malcolm is keeping Walter alive? Can Oliver trust … anybody? CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

MTV: Box-Office Report
Neither Mark Wahlberg nor the Terminator himself could overpower Jessica Chastain over the weekend. While Wahlberg and Arnold Schwarzenegger watched their latest action flicks flame out, Chastain's horror-themed "Mama" debuted at #1 at the box office while "Zero Dark Thirty," which earned the actress an Oscar nomination, came in at #2. Spinoff Online: 'Arrow' S1 Episode 10 Recap
Arrow returned last night from midseason hiatus with “Burned,” which centers on our burned-out hero temporarily abandoning his mission while still smarting from the butt-kicking he received at the hands of the Dark Archer. It also introduces us to yet another DC Universe villain: Firefly, played by SGU Stargate Universe alum Andrew Dunbar. CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

MTV: Box-Office Report
The Academy Awards may be more than a month away, but the box office was all about Oscar over the weekend.
Best Picture nominee "Zero Dark Thirty" was the #1 movie in North America as it expanded nationwide following a limited run in select cities. "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Lincoln," which racked up 12 Oscar nominations last week, were also buoyed by the award season attention.CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

MTV: Box-Office Preview
Best Picture nominee "Zero Dark Thirty" goes wide this weekend, and given the boost it will get from its recently announced inclusion in the Oscar race, it's extremely unlikely that newcomers like "A Haunted House" and "Gangster Squad" will have any shot at the box-office crown. They may say you can't go home again, but nobody told that to Leatherface. Much like last year's low-budget found-footage flick "The Devil Inside," "Texas Chainsaw 3D" defied industry expectations over the weekend by becoming the #1 movie in America. The latest flick to be spun from the early-'70s horror classic about chainsaw-wielding maniac Leatherface scared up $23 million at the box-office. CLICK HERE.

MTV: Box-Office Preview
"Texas Chainsaw" may be one of the most widely recognized horror titles in pop culture, but it can't compete with found footage or fantasy figures. Last year, "The Devil Inside" defied expectations with a huge $34.5 million early January debut despite an extremely low budget, a 7 percent critical average and a CinemaScore of "F." "Texas Chainsaw 3D," this weekend's only major new flick, isn't likely to repeat the success of "Devil." CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.
