MovieWeb: 'Promised Land' Cast Interviews

Matt Damon and John Krasinski wrote a movie together. It's about fracking and it's directed by Gus Van Sant, who directed another movie Matt co-wrote once upon a time. To watch me talk with Damon, Krasinski and their co-star Rosemarie DeWitt, CLICK HERE.

MTV: 'Les Misérables' - The Reviews Are In!

The world's longest-running musical is about to hit theaters with a massive A-list cast in tow. Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe have all assembled for the cinematic adaptation of "Les Misérables." What could go wrong?

With a Christmas Day opening, a bit of Oscar buzz and supporting turns from the likes of Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter, "Les Mis" seems like a safe bet for success. But what are critics saying? The positive vibes aren't unanimous, but 72 percent of the reviews gathered by Rotten Tomatoes at the time of this writing were favorable. MTV: 'Django' - The Reviews Are In!

"Django Unchained" director Quentin Tarantino has made deliciously "talky" storytelling, devilishly fun ultra-violence and an unapologetic worship of all varieties of theatrical influences his stock-in-trade since "Reservoir Dogs" cut off the collective ear of cinephiles everywhere. AP: Mitch Lucker Memorial Show

Mitch Lucker was the frontman for Suicide Silence, but he was also a father, a son and a husband. The moving video tribute that opened the Mitch Lucker Memorial Benefit Concert at Pomona, California's Fox Theatre Friday night drove those points home with equal moments of tearful sentiment and triumphant metal. The benefit show, organized by the surviving Suicide Silence members, raised money for Lucker's young daughter, Kenadee.

Vocalists from across the metal/metalcore spectrum assembled to sing Suicide Silence songs in loving tribute to the fallen frontman, each taking turns in rapid-fire succession as each frontman handed the mic to the one coming up behind him through song after song. MTV: Box-Office Preview

An ex-military hero, professional bogeymen and middle age itself will do battle with Middle Earth at the box office this weekend. Newcomers "Jack Reacher" (starring Tom Cruise), the 3-D re-release of "Monsters, Inc.," Judd Apatow's sort-of "Knocked Up" sequel "This Is 40" and the Seth Rogen/ Barbra Streisand comedy "The Guilt Trip" will all compete against last weekend's #1 film, "The Hobbit," for that highly coveted Christmas coin at the box office. Spinoff Online: 'Arrow' S1 Episode 9 Recap

The first holiday-set episode of Arrow was full of Christmas gifts for the fans: We got to see our hero at odds with a copycat vigilante, we learned a ton more about Oliver’s time on the island, the most badass of Starling City’s bad businessmen moved closer to center stage, and for the first time since the series began, we heard the phrase “Green Arrow.” CLICK HERE to read the rest of my recap.

MTV: Candice Accola

"O Come, All Ye Faithful," tonight's midseason finale of "The Vampire Diaries," promises a major revelation and the death of someone we've known since season one. It could be Matt, Jeremy, Tyler, Bonnie or one of the parents.

Candice Accola couldn't spill that secret when Hollywood Crush caught up with her by phone earlier this week, but she did dish plenty about Caroline's tension with her best friends, tonight's confrontation between Stefan and Tyler, the sire bond, the latest steamy Delena developments and how a character death goes down behind-the-scenes.CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

Billboard: Backstage at KROQ Christmas Show

The moment when Gwen Stefani joined her husband Gavin Rossdale onstage for a moving rendition of Bush's staple "Glyercine" served as a reminder of the enduring power of rock radio in Los Angeles. KROQ's annual Almost Acoustic Christmas included the veteran rockers this year and last and KROQ has never stopped playing tracks from Rossdale's crew. Stefani and the British born singer/guitarist connected, of course, when No Doubt opened for Bush in the 90s. CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

MTV: Box-Office Preview

Gerard Butler must've made 300 movie deals after the success of "300," because he keeps headlining romantic comedies and action capers no matter how badly they do at the box office. "Gamer" opened with just $9 million, "Chasing Mavericks" with $2.2 million and this weekend's "Playing for Keeps" looks set to flounder, leaving the top spots open to familiar films. MTV: A Look Back at 'Vampire Diaries' Flashback Episodes

Despite all of the numerous opportunities to explore various time periods (Damon discovers Atari! Stefan hangs with Elvis!), "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Julie Plec has long maintained that the show only travels back in time when flashbacks will reveal something that's important to the present or future. The show has resisted temptation to overuse this plot device, but still offered plenty of fun trips backward. CLICK HERE to read the rest of my report.

Billboard: Metallica, Eddie Trunk, Live Nation, More Celebrate Metal Blade Records' 30th Anniversary

In a serendipitous bit of timing, on the same day that Metallica announced the formation of their own label, Blackened, the group turned out to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the indie that first released their music. Metal Blade Records President Brian Slagel has come a long way since 1982, when he offered a spot on the first volume of the Metal Massacre compilation series to the fledgling young thrashers, who celebrated their own 30th anniversary last year. Metallica's James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo joined Slagel, longtime Metal Blade VP Mike Faley and VIP guests for a riff-heavy shindig that went well into Friday night.
