(The dreadful) "New Year's Eve" was the #1 movie over the weekend but had little else to celebrate. The ensemble comedy opened to a soft $13.7 million during what turned out to be the weakest weekend at the box office all year. Jonah Hill's R-rated comedy "The Sitter" debuted at #2 with just $10 million, with both films suffering from overwhelmingly poor reviews from critics.
