James Avery RIP

Most folks in America remembered him as Uncle Phil from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," but to a large segment of the pop culture loving population, he was the voice of Shredder, as well.

I've produced a number of special features for Lionsgate's DVD collections of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle series (by the way, the current incarnation on Nickelodeon is awesome!).

I setup an interview with Pat Fraley (voice of Krang) and he was kind enough to let us use his home to speak with his old pal James Avery, as well. Avery was in the midst of doing Shakespeare at that time. I also seem to remember him having a cast, maybe on one of his legs? Anyway, he was great.

Here's my interview with the late James Avery. RIP, sir.
