MTV Movie Awards: Clark Gregg
UNIVERSAL CITY, California — "The Avengers" is now the third-highest-grossing movie in the world. Most likely everyone involved with the mammoth Marvel superhero production is feeling pretty good about all of the success, right? Well, in this special Movie Awards "After Hours" clip, our own Josh Horowitz managed to bring actor Clark Gregg down.

MTV: Box Office Preview
Last weekend, "Men in Black 3" finally ended the box-office domination of "The Avengers," which saw the superhero team-up movie smashing world records with the combined might of Thor's hammer, Captain America's shield, Iron Man's snarky wit and the Hulk's green fists. During this MTV Movie Awards weekend, "Snow White and the Huntsman" will do battle against them both, with "Thor" himself, Chris Hemsworth, in one of the title roles alongside Kristen Stewart, best-known for a little franchise called "Twilight." MTV: Box Office Report
It wasn't Loki, an army of otherworldly Chitauri nor any other super-villain that finally defeated Captain America and his pals. A satiric adaptation of a 1970s soap opera and a big-budget action flick based on a board game tried and failed. Ultimately, it was another franchise with comic book roots that ended the nearly month-long reign of "The Avengers" at the top of the box office, as "Men in Black 3" became the #1 movie in America with an estimated $70 million debut over the four-day Memorial Day weekend. MTV: Box Office Report
Of all the foes the Avengers have defeated, Universal Pictures may be the first to cry, "You sunk my battleship!"
With another $55.1 million earned during its third week in domestic theaters, "The Avengers" held strong at #1 over the weekend as Earth's Mightiest Heroes fended off competition from three new contenders, including "Battleship." The big-budget action pic, loosely adapted from the vintage game, which featured the catchphrase "You sunk my battleship!" in its once-ubiquitous TV commercials, was a distant second with an estimated $25.3 million debut.

MTV: Box Office Report
When it comes to superhero team-ups, it looks like the whole truly is greater than the sum of its parts: "The Avengers" rocked the box office over the weekend, shattering all domestic opening weekends with an estimated $200 million kickoff. That take is significantly higher than the previous record holder, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," which collected $169.2 million when it opened last year.
